George Kroumpouzos, M.D., Ph.D, FAAD

George Kroumpouzos, MD, Ph.D., FAAD, Founder and Medical Director of GK Dermatology, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at Brown University and Professor of Dermatology, Collaborator, at Jundiaí Medical School, São Paulo, Brazil. He has served as an Instructor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School. He is certified by both the American and European Boards of Dermatology. Dr. Kroumpouzos is a Board Member of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology. His expertise includes procedural dermatology, gynecologic/obstetric dermatology, skin cancer, and pigmentation disorders. His clinical practice focuses on dermatology, phototherapy, laser, and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Kroumpouzos has been practicing dermatology for over 20 years and has an extensive 30+ year career in research. He has completed preceptorships with top cosmetic dermatologists, Mohs, and laser surgeons in the country.

Dr. Kroumpouzos is a board member of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dermatology and the Canadian Board of Aesthetic Medicine.  He is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Women’s Dermatology and Dermatologic Therapy, and Editor of the Aesthetic Dermatology section of Clinics in Dermatology. He is the Topic Editor of Cosmetics. He has published more than 165 peer-reviewed publications and 40 book chapters. He is the Editor of 2 monographs and 5 books/texts, including the definitive Text Atlas of Obstetric Dermatology. Dr. Kroumpouzos is passionate about teaching and has delivered lectures as an invited speaker and chaired expert panels at numerous national and international physician conferences. He is the recipient of several scholarships and awards, including awards from the International Union Against Cancer, New England Dermatologic Society, the Teacher of the Year Award by the Department of Dermatology at Brown University, and the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award at Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

In his spare time, Dr. Kroumpouzos enjoys his favorite sports: swimming, skiing, and tennis. He also loves the arts, music, and literature. He enjoys traveling, learning different languages, and exploring other cultures. He always takes great pleasure in visiting Greece, especially in the summer with his family. He lives in Milton, Massachusetts, with his wife and two daughters.
