What is CoolSculpting?
Coosculpting procedure is for spot reduction of fat. It is a noninvasive procedure that uses cooling to remove stubborn pockets of fat. The technology behind CoolSculpting is known as cryolipolysis. It works by freezing unwanted localized fat, which the body then eliminates over the following weeks using its own natural process.
How is Coolsculpting performed?
The CoolSculpting procedure uses a non-invasive vacuum applicator to draw tissue and a non-invasive surface applicator to deliver controlled cooling at the surface of the skin.
Following the procedure, a gradual reduction in the thickness of the fat layer will take place. You may start to see changes as early as three weeks after the Coolsculpting procedure and you will experience the most dramatic results after one to three months. Your body will continue naturally to process the injured fat cells from your body for approximately four months after your procedure.
What should I expect after CoolSculpting?
The treated area may look or feel stiff after the procedure, and transient blanching (temporary whitening of the skin) may occur. Typically, there is minimal discomfort and recovery time after the CoolSculpting procedure. The treated area may be red for up to a few hours after the applicator is removed. Most patients are able to return to their daily routine immediately after the procedure.
