Laser Fractional Resurfacing

There are two laser fractional resurfacing services that we offer in our South Shore MA Dermatology office: ablative and non-ablative. Below is information on both types and before and after photos demonstrating the results.

Ablative (Harmony Pixel)

Harmony Pixel Er:Yag 2940 nm laser can treat scars, atrophic acne scarring, wrinkles (rhytids), furrows, fine lines, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and textural irregularities. The mode of operation is based on the principle of fractional ablative skin resurfacing where only a fraction of the skin mosaic is injured, leaving uninjured skin areas. The intact, undamaged skin around the treatment site promotes quicker healing for a faster recovery.

Non-Ablative (Palomar ICON 1540 nm)

Palomar IconTM 1540 nm laser cosmetic skin treatments are used for the improvement of scars, atrophic acne scarring, wrinkles (rhytids), furrows, fine lines, textural irregularities, melasma, non-ablative skin resurfacing, and soft tissue coagulation, among others. The Palomar IconTM 1540 nm laser uses the fractionated non-ablative technology.
