What’s Hot: Kybella for Double Chin

Are you bothered by “double chin”? Submental fullness, also referred to as “double chin”, does not improve no matter how much you diet or exercise. Submental fullness has been traditionally treated surgically with neck lift or liposuction. Kybella™, a fat-dissolving drug recently approved by the FDA, represents a non-invasive, effective treatment for “double chin” providing long-lasting results.

The active ingredient in Kybella™ is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring substance that enhances the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Unwanted fat cells become destroyed, and cannot store fat any longer. Kybell treatment is performed as a series of injections beneath your chin that are spaced out 2 months apart; most patients require typically 2-4 treatments. Kybella is a personalized treatment, and a patient with a much fuller neck might need up to 6 treatments to achieve the desired results. The treatment improves the contour and shape of the chin and upper neck. Kybella treatment has been associated with very high rates of patient satisfaction, and most patients report improvement in self-perception.

Kybella injections are overall well tolerated.  Side effects are transient, and include mild swelling, tenderness, and perhaps numbness. These mild side effects become less severe with each subsequent treatment. Local anesthesia and ice may help to make the treatment more tolerable.

If you’re looking for a solution for “double chin”, Kybella injections from Dr. Kroumpouzos can help renew your youthful appearance and reduce submental fullness. Request a consultation, or contact us at (781) 812-1078 to schedule your appointment.

  3. I finished my 2nd treatment about 5 weeks ago and am very happy with the results. Everyone around me has noticed, too.

My next treatment is coming up and will probably be all I will need for now.
